A Year on Mounjaro – I Lost 23 kg, But the Real Test Came Later

When I started taking Mounjaro, almost nobody in Poland had heard about it yet. My doctor prescribed it just a few days after the medication became available in the country. In a way, we were both pioneers — me as a patient and him as a doctor.

Over the course of a year, something happened that I had never managed to achieve before. I lost 23 kilograms.

It wasn’t just about how I looked. I felt lighter, had more energy, and my health markers improved. Eventually I reached the weight my doctor considered ideal, so we decided it was time to stop the medication.

The Real Challenge Began

Suddenly, what I call my “demons” came back — cravings for something delicious, constant thoughts about food. I kept telling myself I would be fine. After all, I exercised a lot and believed I could burn off any extra calories.

Reality hit hard.

Within two months I gained back 6 kilograms.

I remember standing on the scale and feeling genuine fear. I was terrified that everything I had worked for over the past year would disappear.

Going Back on Medication

So I made a quick decision — I went back on the medication.

I’ve been taking Mounjaro again for the past six months, and for now I don’t plan to stop. Today I see things differently. Obesity is not just about willpower. It’s about biology, hormones, and mechanisms that are incredibly hard to control.

Will I try to stop again? Maybe.

But next time, I’ll do it much more slowly and much more wisely.
